This EQ is magic with simple amplifiers that have only a volume or Volume and a single tone control. The Barb E.Q is a high headroom classic EQ that adds no overdrive to your signal yet imparts the famous "sound prints" of classic amplifiers.

The Barber Barb E.Q. uses a high voltage internal supply, makes 9 volts into 24 volts for superior headroom.

Barb EQ

Thank you for purchasing the Barber Barb EQ. The Barb EQ will allow

guitar players to add classic “tone stack” sounds to their existing amplifier;

we feel the Barber EQ works best with tube amps with a single tone control

or no tone controls at all. The controls on the Barb EQ are the fairly standard

Volume, Treble, Middle, Bass. The Barb EQ also has a three way toggle that

selects the style of EQ:

Toggle left= 59 high power Tweed style EQ

Toggle middle= 60’s Blackface style EQ (midrange turned all the way down

for stock blackface setting)

Toggle right= late 60’s British amp head style EQ.

The midrange control has a push/pull switch that when “pulled up” gives

you the sounds of the bright input on the tweed and British amps.

The Barb EQ midrange control is slightly more active than the vintage tone

stacks to give you a wider range without any loss of tone, because of this

you should start with the midrange control at its minimum setting, this will

work very well for most tones.

The Barb EQ accepts a 9 volts battery or can be powered by a 9 volt DC

negative tip supply. Please do not use a supply over 9 volts DC, damage

will result.
